Here is a separate issue:

Using the client that I got working, I redirected a USB headset microphone to my server. It appeared to work (the server reported "Found new hardware" and installed the appropriate drivers), but Windows would not list this device as available for recording or playback. The only sound device listed is "Microsoft RDC Sound Driver", which is the standard driver used through Remote Desktop. It only supports playback and not recording. Do you know how I can use my USB device to record and play back sound?

Thanks

Do you mean you need to make COM2 accessible for several applications? Could you please provide some details of this project?

6   Serial Port Solution / Serial Port Redirector / Re: No sucess at all.  Dec 24th, 2008, 5:04am

Hi,

Could you please specify several things:

1) It seems you just want to replace native RPipe application software with our Serial Port Redirector. Do you leave RPipe GPRS modem connected to the device?

2) If yes, please specify who is the initiator of connection: software or modem? If it is modem then our Serial Port Redirector really won't work, because it plays a role of "Server", not "Client". Our SPR initiate the connection.

Thanks!

So, you have 1 USB over Network Server installed on your own PC. Also you have several USB over Network Clients installed on remote PCs (5, 10, ... no matter). You have 1 USB dongle that is connected to your PC physically and you share this dongle with a help of UoN Server.

On remote PCs there is a protected software installed and it needs the dongle to operate. USB over Network seems to work fine. You can share the device and connect it from each remote PC, but the software doesn't recognize this dongle in almost all cases. However sometimes it recognises,

I want to ask you in what cases does it recognise the dongle? Does it constantly recognise the dongle from certain PCs or it can recognise it once and then it won't recognise it for the second time for example.

Dear Gunnar!

Unfortunately, we have no Unix support.
We can't even predict whether it will be ever implemented.

It's a pity. Anyway, we have clarified the scenario you were about to follow at least.
